San Francisco had never counted its small family child care homes. The public list showed 296 large homes; the sector is actually 852, and small homes are 65% of it. A records request to CDSS — filed by the provider association, asking for existing records with identifying fields withheld rather than for a count the agency had no duty to create — returned 556 licensed homes and 4,322 slots in fifteen days, at no cost, with nothing redacted. The finding underneath the finding: the privacy statute never barred zip code, capacity or license status. Nobody had asked. So the work became a playbook and a lead page for the other 57 counties to file the same request.

Started as a URL decoder — pasting a long MCCP link to quickly identify which agency, provider, or parent record it pointed to. Evolved into a workflow engine: one-click email lookups across Intercom and WordPress, automated Intercom tagging, parent record search by city name, provider UUID lookups, and a reference copier for parent landing pages. Built because the tools staff use every day weren't designed to talk to each other — so I made something that sits in between and closes the gaps.
